We are now past the Last Great BBQ of the Summer Season, aka Labor Day,
and pumpkin spice fills the air. Those in the Southern Hemisphere may

2009 Northern Marianas Islands d 1

Yesterday, the coin changer at the laundry gave me a Northern Marianas
Island. This is the first one since 2017, when my . It may be the first one
in 9 years.

They didn't even make 73 million NMI quarters.

There were actually 6 designs released in 2009. This is the only time
quarters were that diverse in a single year, at least since 1999, and
of course the design was near constant since 1932. Down to 2 designs
in 2021 (last of the America The Beautiful series with "Tuskegee
Airman" and then "Crossing the Delaware"), and back to the usual 5 for
the American Women series.
