We’ve learned way more than we wanted to know about the early history
of American professional basketball, like that you could have once
watched a game between teams named the Indianapolis Kautskys and the
Akron Firestone Non-Skids. -- fivethirtyeight.com

Before my time, but I doff my cap.
The last I found in Google's historical collection was a post in 2007,
and a couple of mentions in 2009.

For my own ouvre, I don't see anything before September 2009 when
searching on my name, but it looks like I'd been there a while -- and
posted in a thread in 2006 that Dennis also posted in.

I wonder if any bit of Nick Spalding's complete archive survived his
death.

I followed the links in that. The mapwork examples at the company
sight are wonderful. I bet we're missing a lot by not having the
lectures and presentations online.

late followup ... I'm glad to see the proper Subject line was used.

There's nothing inherently wrong with Big Data. What matters, as it
does for Arnold Lund in California or Richard Rothman in Baltimore, are
the questions -- old and new, good and bad -- this newest tool lets us
ask. (R. Lerhman, CSMonitor.com)
